A gay reporter is embedded with an army unit in Iraq to cover the discharge of a gay soldier on the eve of the Don't Ask Don't Tell repeal in the short film RESISTANCE.
Resistance was filmed in March of 2011. At the time of filming we were $2000 short of our needed budget. We've been trying to catch up ever since.
The 20 minute film was shot on location in Long Beach and Mojave California, as well as a small studio at Cal State Long Beach over two weekends. Despite the small budget production designer, Caitlin Kagawa, worked hard to bring an authentic look to our locations and costumes. It took every dime we had to get through production, but thanks to generous donations of time, money and props we completed production on schedule and with a picture that we are all very proud of.
Now, the film is nearly completed and it will be time to make DVDs and submit it to festivals. That is where you come in. Every dollar you can spare allows RESISTANCE the chance to go to a festival. With your help, this story can reach the eyes of people around the world.
Will you help us?
