**This is an update and ammendment to the original project which was supposed to be a documentary film. I have received so much moral support for this project and a decent amount of contributions, and for that I'm truly grateful. It means a lot to me to know there is so much support out there for what I do! **
After 6 months of putting in an honest effort into fundraising and seeking corporate sponsorship, I'm having to rethink the way I want to bring fabulous Jamaica travel information to my fan base. It can't be in the form of a typical documentary-style film without funding SO I'm flipping the script in light of new opportunities that have presented themselves.
I'm a native Calgarian (Canada) and my travel blog called "Jamaica My Way" has just passed its 3-year anniversary. I have some of the most loyal followers a girl could ever ask for and it's my pleasure to continue bringing you as many local Jamaica adventures as I can dream up!
For more than a year I had a documentary concept in mind that aimed to be UNLIKE most travel and tourism films. Lots of people do reality-type travel videos but how many of them are single females that go into the trenches of real life in a particular foreign country? If you read my blog you know what I mean and if you don't read my blog I encourage you to go browse it. It's not the kind of blog that would get the attention of a "Tourist Board". If there's a travel grain to go against, I'm your girl!
Since a full-length documentary isn't possible without meeting a budget requirement, I am making a committment to not let down those who have already believed in my vision - that vision being to bring as much "local" footage as I can for all of you who have supported the concept of Jamaica My Way!
I am relocating to Jamaica once again, on an unrelated writing assignment and would love to bring back AT LEAST weekly video episodes to the blog! All contributions already received and all further contributions will be put directly into this effort.
If you love the TRUE purpose of travel and are passionate about uncovering the REAL Jamaica, its culture and people...please consider putting in your 2 cents (or several dollars!) to KEEP THE JAMAICA FIRES BURNING!
