Hi everyone,
As many of you know, a few months ago, I decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. After a few weeks of embarking on this journey, a few of my friends convinced me that since this is a once in a lifetime challenge (one of the things on my bucket list!!), I might want to considering raising funds for a charity.
Well, after giving it some thought, I came up with not 1 but 4 charities that I have a deep affinity to. My connection to these charities was established through my employment, volunteerism and a group association where I have been able to see firsthand the great work these charities bring to the community.
The following outlines each of the charities’ mission statement:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada
We commit to Canada's young people that we will be leaders in providing them with the highest quality, volunteer based mentoring programs.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC) is the leading child and youth serving organization providing mentoring programs across the country. Providing support to more than 1000 Canadian communities, our over 128 local agencies offer the service that the organization was founded on: One-to-One Matching. Men and women (age 18 or older) give of their time to become a mentor to a young person who can greatly benefit from having an adult role model to look up to. - Donate directly at

My commitment to you:
My personal goal of climbing will be at my expense and my expense only. All of the money raised will be donated to the 4 charities. If I raise up to $10,000, I will divvy the funds, and send each charity a cheque for one quarter of the amount raised.
If I raise in excess of $10,000, I will take the first $5,000, divvy the funds and send each charity $1,250. With the balance, I will set up an endowment fund to be named Frank Vessio All Walks of Life Endowment Fund. From this fund, on an annual basis, I will continue to support these 4 charities each year with the interest earned.
Please support me in these great causes and pass on this computer link to your friends and families and anyone else who may be interested in these causes.
