The Runaway is a hip-hop & spoken word artist known for a dynamic show that represents the basic tenets of hip-hop: peace, love, unity and having fun. He also incorporates powerful personal & spiritual messages that have inspired audiences over his 7 years of performing.
During that time he has released two CDs, "A Brief Word" and "Round Two" as well as several charity projects, mixtures, compilations & podcasts.
His most recent effort "Inspired" is born from a desire to see people rise up against the threats of boredom and apathy and instead choose a path that drives them towards good deeds in their homes and communities. The music is being crafted to encouragement to the listener and challenge them to find their inner passion - one that will bring blessing to the world.
"Inspired" is an ambitious effort which merges the powerful rhymes of The Runaway with his love of folk music. While created within the spirit of hip-hop, it is designed to allow even more listeners to engage the lyrics and encouraging messages. Producing the record are James Bloemendal & Matt McKenna, from Hamilton, ON, who are bringing excellent musicianship and an enthusiasm that is helping this project pick up momentum.
With this effort also comes the added costs of producing the record: producers, studio musicians, post-production & manufacturing. A modest budget has been set, and the musicians are being as frugal as possible, yet the cost still stands at between $4000-5000.
